Top 3 UK Dating Sites

At DatingFAQ.co.uk we want to help YOU have the best possible chance of finding love with online dating. There are hundreds of UK online dating sites, but the truth is that only a minority are worth joining. There are a number of things you need to consider before choosing a dating site, including the price, matching system and number of members.

We post reviews of dating services regularly, but here are our top 3 sites in the UK at the moment.

eHarmony takes the matching algorithm of other dating sites one step further by removing any need for you to search for other members. All the searching is done for you by a "scientifically proven" matching algorithm. To get started you need to answer a large number of questions, which can be daunting for a new member, but allows eHarmony to match you with members that it thinks you'll get on well with.

If you've been a member of a "normal" dating site then you may be relieved by the lack of searching for other profiles. Anyone who's been on a dating site knows the frustration of trawling through hundreds of profiles trying to find one that looks interesting! The downside is that the matching algorithm can't possibly be 100% accurate and you get less control over who you're matched with.

Overall eHarmony.co.uk is a great dating site if you want to have a hassle free dating experience. The support provided is quick to respond (especially via telephone, which is free for members), and there is a lot of information online on how to make the most of the site. eHarmony is one of the largest dating sites in the UK so there is no chance of running out of potential matches.

Match.com is one of the largest online dating brands across the world, so you'd expect the UK version of the site to be good. Fortunately, it doesn't disappoint! With the huge amount of money the company generates it's no surprise that the search and matching features of Match.com are better than the vast majority of other dating sites, so most people find it easy to meet someone that they get on with.

Unlike eHarmony, Match.com allows you to search for potential matches. Whether this is a good thing or not depends on whether you want more control over who you're matched with or whether you prefer your online dating to be as hassle free as possible. The good news is that the search feature on Match.com is fantastic - you can narrow down the options as much as you want or just go for a broad search and see who takes your fancy!

Other good features of Match.com is that it supports a number of different mobile applications, has free phone support and one of the largest member bases in worldwide dating. The downside is that it is one of the more expensive options at the moment, but not by a huge margin (and you usually get what you pay for). Read our full Match.com review here!

Dating Direct probably isn't as well known as Match or eHarmony, purely because the company doesn't appear to spend the same amount of money on advertising, but don't let that put you off. It is estimated that at any given time there is an average of sixty thousand members on at any one time - with that quantity of members the chances of you finding love are high!

Dating Direct is also considerably cheaper than Match.com and very reasonably priced compared to other dating sites. Without signing up this is difficult to confirm, but while researching Dating Direct it also appears that it's very easy to cancel you membership - something which unfortunately cannot be said about all dating sites.

Some good features of the Dating Direct include that there are a number of site features which make finding a good match easy, phone support and the ability to upload photos via a webcam.
